The office acts as the college service arm in providing assistance to those who are in dire need within the framework of partnership and empowerment among stakeholders and beneficiaries. It helps in community development among marginalized communities which includes the IP’s and identifies community needs through surveys/assessments. It also creates livelihood programs, education, health and hygiene, gender and development agendas to promote socio-economic status of marginalized communities, and develops an improved urban environment through collaborative community engagement.
The office has continuously implemented livelihood projects, including dressmaking, tote bag and purse making, dishwashing liquid and fabric conditioner production, and basic food processing. These projects aim to help beneficiaries—particularly women, out-of-school youth, and low-income families—generate additional income and build small-scale enterprises. Through these programs, participants are not only equipped with technical skills but also with entrepreneurial knowledge on financial management, product marketing, and business sustainability.
The Community Extension Office actively promotes health awareness and environmental stewardship as essential components of its community service programs. Through various initiatives, the office aims to foster healthier lifestyles and a cleaner, more sustainable environment among community members. Health-related activities include seminars on disease prevention, nutrition, mental health, and personal hygiene, as well as medical outreach programs that provide essential services to underserved areas.
The Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) programs promote awareness, understanding, and positive behavioral change within the community. These programs serve as vital tools for disseminating knowledge on various social, health, environmental, and developmental issues. Through seminars, workshops, community dialogues, and information campaigns, the office ensures that essential messages reach different sectors of society. By empowering individuals with accurate information and practical knowledge, the IEC program strengthens community participation, supports informed decision-making, and enhances the overall impact of the institution’s outreach initiatives. It embodies the office’s commitment to education, communication, and active community involvement.
The Community Extension Office conducts various extension and outreach programs designed to promote social responsibility, community development, and capacity building. These programs serve as a bridge between the institution and the community, translating academic knowledge and resources into practical actions that address local needs. The outreach and extension services reflect the institution’s enduring commitment to inclusive growth, shared learning, and nation-building.
